Indian Mask |

This is another quilt that is quite popular with many people who have
seen my collection, and several have wanted to buy it. However, I will
not sell it because he center piece/Indian mask of this quilt was given
to me by my quilt mentor Debbie Carlson, and therefore could never be
duplicated or replaced.
In the second link, you can see how I beaded the headress part of the mask. I also hand-quilted various parts of the mask, such as the leaves, lips, ears, and forehead. Why am I so obsessed with invisible details? I have no idea. The "earring" that can be seen in the first link was actually part of a junk necklace that I bought at a chuch rumage sale. The necklace really was quite horrendous; it looked kind of like plastic rock-like things - something that Wilma Flintstone might wear. Just goes to show you that one man's trash really is another man's treasure! :-) |
