I have had quite a few people ask to buy this quilt, but I won't part
with it because it was my very first art quilt, and therefore, holds
great sentimental value for me. My quilt mentor Debbie Carlson, helped
me make this quilt. She was the one who stippled the quilt, added the
bright varigated thread meandering throughout the quilt, and also
taught me about couching (sewing down a large thread or cord with a
zig-zag stitch)
If you will look at the third link, the one with the Volkswagon Bug, you'll see that on the Bug's license plate, I have embroidered my first name and the year I made the quilt. Other interesting facts include that the very shiny smiley face shown at the bottom of the first link is actually an earring; the other half of the pair is somewhere else on the quilt. My mom bought me the pair for me because I love smiley faces. However, the earrings were too big so I put them on the quilt. |
